Can I create this transport rule

$

Is it possible to create an exchange 2013 transport rule that will do the following:

IF the message header indicates that the email has originated in domain X

AND the the email is addressed to recipient Y

AND the subject line does not contain an 8 digit number

THEN either redirect the email to a different recipient

OR send it to a specific folder in recipient Y's mail file

Thanks in advance

Receiving Microsoft outlook on behalf of Emails that go directly to Deleted Items folder

I have a user that joined the company earlier this year. She sends out a lot of meeting planner requests.  Ever since she started she has been receiving a ton of Emails that read "Microsoft Outlook on behalf of" XXXuser. The users are varied but they are all part of the same group that she has sent the meeting request to.  They all come at the same time and they automatically get pushed into deleted items folder.

The only thing I have been able to find out is that the time she receives these message coincide with the time of day that my exchange server was rebooted.  For instance I just installed CU10 and rebooted the server at about 5pm and that is when her messages are coming.

I have no idea what is causing this and not really sure where to look. She is the only person in my company who is experiencing this.. Can someone please shed some light on this..She has no rules set up and we have an onsite exchange Server not Office 365.

Thanks

Hi There

We're running on an Exchange 2013 server. When users get a NDR (look OK at this time), but when forwarding the NDR to system admin, they get garbled into Chinese (or what looks like Chinese). Any ideas on solving this ?

PDF attachments Not opening, not able to print, not able to save

We switched to Exchange server 2013 last November. Ever since then, with no real pattern, my users have reported that some PDF attachments either will not open because of an error that says its corrupt, or not all pages show, or my user is unable to save it... Actually a multitude of errors but once the user forwards the email to themselves.. the PDF attachment is just fine.

Has anyone else experience this??? I am at my wits end.

Mail Rule to detect a character string

I am attempting to find a method to create a mail flow rule to detect the character string PIN.

I want to encrypt any message where a user may inadvertently send their PIN number for their Credit card or Debit card.

When I create a rule to detect when "any of these words" I insert PIN as a word.

This works, but it also detects other word with PIN such as "mapping" or "hoping".

I also tried \sPIN\s this had the same results.

Is there a method that can do this?

Hello,

Some days, I got this message :

Resources that are under more than normal pressure will be

: Version Buckets= 230 [Normal=80 Medium=120 High=200]

It disabled my mailflow.

Is it possible to disable back pressure monitoring ? and if yes it can be an issue or not  ?

Thanks

Exchange 2013 (on premise) Disclaimer Rule not working for distribution/security group

$

Greetings,

This should be simple, so I've most likely missed something somewhere. Defined a new rule using EAC, mail flow, rules. Simple rule to add a disclaimer to mail for users in a group.

Apply this rule if... The sender is a member of... some group
Do the following... Append the disclaimer.... blah blah blah disclaimer text
Priority 0
Audit this rule with severity level: Low
Choose a mode for this rule: Enforce
Match sender address in message: Header

Built a new distribution group using the EAC, added users, configured the rule, ask them to test by emailing me, NO JOY! No disclaimer added. Okay, build a new security group using EAC. Add myself to the group, send test email to myself. No Joy. Build a new distribution group using AD, add myself, test, no joy. Change the rule, apply the rule if the sender is... Me. Test the rule, it works.

So, the rules are working and the rule just me works. The rule to a group, security or distribution, doesn't work.

Now, I can change the rule, add the users individually to the rule, and see if it'll work. If it does, that may do the trick for now, but ongoing maintenance is going to be a significant effort, managing the rule each time a user comes or goes, rather than just adjusting the group membership.

I've read a number of posts already, describing this process and followed their instructions. No luck. I've seen reference to looking at the transport logs, but, where are these logs now? I don't see them available in the EAC, does that mean going through the \LOGS folder(s) and browsing through all the text files??? How does one check/test to see why the group is failing?

Probably get this figured out just in time to upgrade to 2016...

Thanks in advance,

Steven

HubTransport Unhealthy

$

Hi, all.

I have an Exchange 2013 DAG with 4 mailbox servers and 2 CAS servers in 2 sites: 1 CAS and 2 MBs in each site. There are 6 databases, and all MB servers hold a copy of each database. So there are 1 live and 3 copies of each database.

Two of my MB servers – one in each site - show unhealthy HubTransport. Luckily, the other MB server in each site is working, so mail is still flowing. But I need to solve why these HubTransports are showing unhealthy. Both servers behave as follows:

I run: Get-HealthReport -Identity EX104 | Where {$_.AlertValue -eq Unhealthy"} | ft -a

Results:

Server     State         HealthSet        AlertValue LastTransitionTime      MonitorCount
------       -----          ---------          ----------   ------------------         ------------
EX104      Online        HubTransport   Unhealthy  10/12/2015 12:19:58 PM 123

Then I run: Get-ServerHealth EX104.rai-energy.local | ?{$_.HealthSetName -eq "HubTransport"} | where {$_.AlertValue -eq "Unhealthy"} | ft -a name,targetresource,alertvalue

Results:

Name                                                                   TargetResource  AlertValue
----                                                                      --------------       ----------
Transport.ReceiveConnectorAvailabilityLow.Monitor        HubTransport     Unhealthy

Current status:
Mail queues are clear and mail flows ok. The Application and System event logs are pretty clean - nothing that I think is related to this issue.

What has changed:
Last week we raised the domain functional level from 2003 to 2008R2. The DB servers then had some issues connecting to Active Directory, and Managed Availability rebooted them automatically a few times. I found some posts where this could be fixed by restarting the Kerberos Key Distribution service on all domain controllers, or just rebooting all the domain controllers, which I did last night. I then rebooted the problem Exchange servers for good measure. The Windows and Crimson Channel event logs are all clear this morning on all servers, so I believe this particular issue is resolved. However I cannot say whether the unhealthy hubtransport existed before raising the domain functional level.

I'm not sure how to continue troubleshooting. And I cannot find any documentation on this Monitor. Anyone know how to troubleshoot this issue? Thanks!

Problem with migration meeting rooms from 2010 to 2013

We have Exchange 2013 in company A and Exchange 2010 + 2013 servers in company B. There is a two-way AD forest trust beetwen forests. We did GAL synchronization with Microsoft Forefront Identity Manager. There is organization sharing configured on both exchange organization in place. Everything worked as expected. Currently we are trying to migrate meeting rooms in company B from exchange 2010 to 2013 mailbox database. Move request was finished with success but some of meeting rooms (in company B)does not responds for meeting requests from users from federated company A. The same meeting rooms respond properly for meeting request from within the same forest (company B). Of course we did synchronization of GAL after move requests finished. Any idea how to troubleshoot it?

Email address blocked

Hi,

Running on Exchange 2013.

So I ran into a strange problem the other day. We have an email enabled security group that has been around since the beginning of time. It’s our network admins group.  Recently we noticed that it is unable to receive external emails (reports, weekly updates etc), internal everything is fine.  I made sure everything is enabled on the exchange side to allow for receiving externally, no luck. I then gave this group another email address and everything worked just fine. I then added the problematic email address to my account and no luck. I can’t receive email based on this email address.  I took a look at our journaling and no reference of this email address exists.  I did a trace on the email and nothing.  Also, my from Gmail account I don't receive any kind of NDR.  Anyone have any ideas why a particular email address would be blocked from the system?? Or how???

TIA

antispam agents are disabled but an email goes to junk folder only for one mailbox

Hi!

I’m running Exchange 2013 CU9 and have disabled all native antispam features:

get-TransportService | FL AntispamAgentsEnabled
AntispamAgentsEnabled : False

get-ContentFilterConfig | FL Enabled
Enabled : False

There is only one user who catches a specific email to outlook junk folder.  The other users receive this email to inbox folder.
Since antispam is disabled there are no SCL headers in emails.

Also get-MailboxJunkEmailConfiguration  doesn’t  show the sender is blocked or trusted for any of mailboxes.

RunspaceId : a170ede8-2d05-4eea-b6ad-94f8e41e8a4f
Enabled : True
TrustedListsOnly : False
ContactsTrusted : False
TrustedSendersAndDomains : {}
BlockedSendersAndDomains : {}
IsValid : True
ObjectState : Unchanged

All users run outlook 2010sp2, but I believe outlook is not the point because this is server side feature.

I can’t figure out why only one mailbox handles this particular email like a junk?

End up in junk mail when sending

Hi,

I have a problem with my Exchange 2013 server.

When I try to send out to external mail accounts I can sometime end up in junk mail.
I try to find out if it is just some certain mail that we can't send to.

I do know that we have problems with Gmail.

Could it be that our name which includes "monkey" can be mistaken for money by autofilters?.

Thanks for answers.

Exchange 2007 and 2013 co-existence mailflow issues

$

I've recently set up a Exchange 2013 environment in order to move the users away from Exchange 2007 and moved a pilot group to the 2013 environment and some of the users emails are going missing.

If someone in the 2007 environment emails a user that is now in the 2013 environment we are are getting undeliverable like this:

Ex13.domain.local Remote Server returned '554 5.2.0 STOREDRV.Deliver.Exception:NotSupportedWithServerVersionException; Failed to process message due to a permanent exception with message The mailbox of user 2013user@domain.local[1] that is located on a server that is running version 8 can't be opened on a server that is running version 15. NotSupportedWithServerVersionException: The mailbox of user 2013user@domain.local[2] that is located on a server that is running version 8 can't be opened on a server that is running version 15. [Stage: CreateSession]'

Have found the emails in a queue on the 2007 server with the error message: 451 4.7.0 Temporary server error. Please try again later. PRX4

Doesn't happen for all users and is sporadic, has anyone seen this before?
