Organizational Recipient Limits versus Mailbox Recipient limits

I would like clarification if anyone can before I make this change. Currently, we have Recipient Message limits set on a per-mailbox basis to satisfy some recent company policy changes. The default for the company is that no standard user can send to more than 15 people at a time; however, we have a variety of users that are exempt of the defacto limit and can send more.

I had planned to change our: Set-TransportConfig -MaxRecipientEnvelopeLimit

for the Organization and then, instead of manually inputting 15 for the vast majority, I would only input the exceptions on each of their mailboxes. If my understanding is right, that would be fine; however, I'm not entirely sure I understand correctly. I noted here:

That this exception would only be valid for internal message delivery and that if an executive sent over the organization's limit to someone outside of the domain, they would be put into the 15 limit. . .

So, the question is: Can we set an Exchange 2010 limit to default for 15 recipients for both internal and external mail sent as well as define exemptions for various levels of executives and development groups?


Insufficient System Resources

Hi Folks,

I've 2 HUB/CAS Server in my environment that are load balanced.

We also have a Server with Jupiter application installed on it, and when the jupiter server tries to send an e-mail, it got the following message "Insufficient System Resources".

I've check some articles that suggest increasing the memory, increase the volume on which the queue folder exists, but I don't think that it's my issue, because all the other users can send and receive normally.

I'd be glad to hear your suggestions regarding the issue.

Send connector with multiple domains

Hello guys,

We have Exchange 2010 SP3 RU7. Is it possible to setup only one send connector for multiple domains knowing that our multiple domains are updated each month. For all these multiple domains the mail will be routed through the same smart host. thank's for your help.

Assign group send to internet via send connector exchange 2013

Hello,

We installed Exchange 2013 CU12. On send connector have a connector via smart host (Smart host is mail gateway email) send to internet. We're planning to use another mail gateway.

So! Now we need to configure new connector that can add group (just several users, group) via new connector. How to solution this matter. I don't know how to assign group email to new connector. That group will send to internet through new connector. Could you help me?

4.3.2 QUEUE.TransportAgent; message deleted by transport agent

Hi

We have a big problem here!
A lot of messages are just deleted by the transport agent. I don't know why that happens. Message tracking just show me the following entries:


TrendMicro Scanmail has been installed on the server, and from that point I get these entries. So there must be a relation between, but I don't know what.

Any Suggestions?

Out Of Office Rule not Forwarding mail?

Our Organization has 2 email accounts for everyone. 

user@companyA.com and user@companyB.com

All mail sent to user@companyB.com is forwarded to user@companyA.com, no mail is left in the Inbox of user@companyb.com

When they Turn on Out Of Office for user@companyA.com they also setup a Rule that says any message Addresses Specifically to user@companyA.com, deliver the email to insidesales@companyA.com.

Sending an email to user@companyA.com then gets forwarded to insidesales@companyA.com.

sending an email to user@companyB.com does not get sent to insidesales@companyA.com

If we setup the Out Of Office for user@companyb.com Account and they also setup a Rule that says any message Addresses Specifically to user@companyB.com, deliver the email to insidesales@companyA.com.

sending an email to user@companyB.com does not get sent to insidesales@companyA.com.

Looking at the Message Tracking I can't see the forwarding rule getting fired for the user@companyB.com OOF. 

This happens for a group of people. When I do it on my own, it works fine. 

Can we allow users inside the organisation to use outlook anywhere without vpn and from outside use vpn for outlook user.

I have a question about Exchange Server 2013 kindly help if anyone have some knowledge about it .We have an Exchange Server 2013 and we want  users from outside the organisation to use outlook through SSL VPN and from within the organisation the users use it without VPN. Is it possible ?

Hi All,

 We seem to encounter email delivery issue when the email is more thatn 35+ MB. Exchange 2013 with MBX/CAS and Edge servers.

On the Mailbox
C:\>get-transportconfig
MaxReceiveSize                                              : 25 MB (26,214,400 bytes)
MaxSendSize                                                 : 100 MB (104,857,600 bytes)

C:\>get-receiveconnector | ft name, maxmessagesize
All connectors including default are set to 100 MB

C:\>get-sendconnector | ft name, maxmessagesize
All connectors including edge sync are set to 100MB

On the edge server

C:\>get-transportconfig
MaxReceiveSize                                              : unlimited
MaxSendSize                                                 : 100 MB (104,857,600 bytes)

C:\>get-receiveconnector | ft name, maxmessagesize
All connectors including default are set to 100 MB

C:\>get-sendconnector | ft name, maxmessagesize
All connectors including edge sync are set to 100MB

The entire transport pipeline has been configured with 100 MB max size, but the email more than 35+ MB fails to deliver


EAS Device Still Syncing MONTHS After Account Disabled/Password Changed

So, I know this is a fairly common issue when an account is initially modified, as in the changes can take up to 24 hours to propagate.

HOWEVER, our situation is quite extraordinary because the terminated employee had access to an authenticated EAS device for MONTHS. More specifically:

-User employment was terminated on May 6th, 2016

-User account was suspended via AD and Exchange

-User password was reset

-User's file/email data was retained in case the need to review anything had come up

After our CEO had sent out an email with a read receipt request this past week, it became apparent the terminated employee still had email access as a read receipt was received. This is an enormous breach of security and privacy. Has anybody ever experienced anything like this? How could this have happened? Even if the employee somehow was able to acquire/guess the new password, it still should not have worked as the account was disabled. And we've never had this issue before despite following the appropriate termination and suspension protocol. If anybody has any input/ideas/suggestions, I am all ears as we would like to get to the bottom of this ASAP!

Sendconnector changing port not working

Hi,

I have changed my sendconnector port to xx. and i have also changed receive connector port to anonymous inbound connection, and now it works perfectly. But when i change sendconnector/smtp to another port, then won't working (It's work perfectly by default). What to do I have changed sendconnector with this cmd, and firewall also is ok.

Set-SendConnector -Identity "XXXXXX" -Port XXXXX

Certificates for exchange server in child domains

Hi Team,

We have 2 child domains on which Exchange 2013 is installed. We have issued a single SSL certificate from our internal ADCA server in Parent domain.
This certificate is installed on the exchange server in child domains.
THE SAN name has all the url's required for autodiscover and OWA access.
When we try to open OWA url for both the child domains we are getting the certificate error as the CN name on the certificate is not the same as FQDN of any of the CAS servers.

Do we need to generate 2 certificates from ADCA with different CN name (Same as FQDN used to access CAS server from outside network) to resolve this error?

Sending email authentication

When I use power shell to Send-MailMessage from our domain user's email address to any external email address, then I receive "5.7.1 Unable to relay" which is as expected.

Unfortunately, when I Send-MailMessage from domain user's email address to another domain user's email address or the same domain user's email address, the message is sent without asking for username or password.

Please help me to prevent sending any email without authentication in Exchange Server 2013.

Im trying to send a mail to testsender.checktls.com but the mails are still stucking at the mail queue with the following error:
441 4.4.1 Error encountered while communicating with primary target IP address: “421 4.4.2 Connection dropped due to SocketError.” Attempted failover to alternate host, but that did not succeed. Either there are no alternate hosts, or delivery failed to all alternate hosts.

Do you have any ideas?

User want only one time email (Member of Multiple Security Groups)

Hi,

A user is member of multiple security groups and if someone send email to those groups, User get email from every Security group as it is member of every group. Is there any way, we can restrict that if that user receives email from one Security group then he will receive not same email from second distribution group. Please suggest.

Add X-Envelope_To: header ?

Hi, it does not appear possible to add an X-Envelope-To: header to messages to show the original envelope recipient at the point it arrives at the exchange server.  i.e. it is not possible, in the mail flow rules, to obtain the envelope recipient.

Any ideas appreciated.


How to Allow no body, no subject email to be received

Hello,

I have a costumer that receives an email from a service that comes with no body or subject, only comes with an attachment,... this makes Exchange 2013 block the email and we never receive it, but i can see in the service webpage that the mails were sent.

How do i override this filter or rule that blocks this specific email address on exchange server 2013, because i need to receive this emails,... they bring orders in the attachment.

CAS server NLB cluser

Dear all,

in my organisation we have 2 cas, 2 mbx servers. 
2 cas servers are in nlb cluster, and use one unique ip adress.

Internal and public DNS and ASA firewall is setup to target/nat mail.ogranisation.com to nlb cluster unique ip adress.

And when I send mails to live or gmail service, mails goes to spam. In header of mail I saw that mails doesnt go trough mail.ogranisation.com fixed public ip adrees, mail goes trough public ip adrees for internet browsing.

Event ID 1040 MSExchaneg Transport Delivery generates every 15 minutes

Hi All,

Need your help in resolving the error, I am getting the below events every 15 min (EXc2013 CU8) , Only few users complained emails are getting delayed

Event ID : 1040

Source: MS Exchange transport delivery

The SMTP availability of the receive connector default mailbox delivery was low(0 percent)  in the last 15 minutes.
