Sending Mail to External INTRANET Domain

I have an on-premise setup consisting of two 2013 Exchange Servers in a clustered DAG.

Recently a sister organization has requested to be able to send mail to us from their mail server, and also have our users be able to email their users back to their mail server.

IMPORTANT - We are in an INTRANET configuration, with direct access between our sites and no INTERNET connectivity. Both sites have their own Domain and their own Mail Servers.

On our domain, our mail domain is the same as our domain name:

Domain name = mydomain.com

Example mailbox = user1@mydomain.com

For our sister domain:

Domain Name = theirdomain.com

Example mailbox = user1@weloveemail.com

I am attempting to set up a Send Connector on our side so that our users can email our sister organization, and the emails keep getting stuck in the queue: "A matching connector cannot be found to route the external recipient"

What I have done:

- Set up an Accepted Domain for "theirdomain.com"

- Set up a Send Connector for *.theirdomain.com

- Restarted Exchange services, as well as Restarted the servers completely

Additional Info - we have a conditional forwarder to our sister domain - "theirdomain.com". I can ping their mailserver mail.theirdomain.com just fine.

What I have also tried:

- Set up an Accepted Domain for "theirdomain.com"

- Set up a Send Connector for *.weloveemail.com

- Restarted Exchange services, as well as Restarted the servers completely

Any help/advice is greatly appreciated! I have looked up multiple articles online including Practical365, etc.

Emails going to junk folder

Hi,

Im seeing an increase of emails that are send by our users to other organizations going to junk folder.

I did go through regular verification if we are blacklisted and other things that might decrease our score on remote email security appliance but I cant really find anything. We do have rDNS record and SPF record set up. There is no bulk emailing.

Is there a way for me to increase the score so emails wont wind up in junk folder at other organizations.

Hybrid - Spam Filters

Exchange 2013 hybrid configured.

This automatically sets up O365-OnPrem and On-Prem-O365 connectors in O365.

There is no general receive connector in O365 as inbound Internet mail doesn't require one.

I want to configure my O365 tenant to receive mail from my existing cloud Spam Filter.

1. Do I need to create an additional O365 receive connector and lock it down via IP (of cloud Spam Filter)

2. Do I need to create a connection filter to bypass spam in O365 

3. Do I need to do both?

Hello, 

I have a question, I might be in a wrong category so if I <g class="gr_ gr_337 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar multiReplace" data-gr-id="337" id="337">am forgive</g> me, so migration from Exchange 2003 Migration to Office 365, the problem is in public folders they are too large, anyone had that problem before? 

So if I'm not in the wrong forum I'll write more detail.

A new user randomly get undelivered email from external and internal sender

Hi MS support,

This month, we are facing some of the new users got randomly delivery has failed to these receipients or group from external and internal sender.

Diagnostic information for administrators:
Generating server: email server
IMCEAEX-_o=First+20Organization_ou=Exchange+20Administrative+20Group+20+28FYDIBOHF23SPDLT+29_cn=Recipients_cn=email address
Remote Server returned '550 5.1.1 RESOLVER.ADR.ExRecipNotFound; not found'

is there a way to resolved the problem?

Hi Guys,

We have Exchange 2013 standard with latest CU  installed on our premises, but we are facing an error with one specific domain.

When a mailbox in an specific domain send a mail to one of our mailboxes, it get the error 554 5.7.1 This message has been blocked because the HELO/EHLO domain is invalid.

Also, when we do a diagnostic test from mxtoolbox, we get the same error.

I have setup the fqdn in the send conector and also in the receive conector.

Is there anything i can check to fix that issue.

i'll appreciate any help you can give me.

External Email Relay

Hi,

Running Exchane 2013.

So we have internal email relaying working (network equipment bouncing of our exchange server) but we have a software product being hosted outside of our organization that needs to relay off our exchange server.  What are the proper steps for this?  All I can find is anonymous relaying.  I am guessing, they are going to need a domain account for this work.  Would like to get some best practice steps if possible.

Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups

For some reason or the other we cant not send mails from Exchange server to other email domains for example user@gmail.com or @yahoo.co.uk. we only receive mails from within and others outside our domain can also send mails to us.  please help

SBS to 2013 Mail flow

HI All

I dont know if my post disappeared.

I have migrated from SBS 11 to Exchange 2013

Because of the size of the company they used a pop3 connector to get mail from the ISP and used a smart host.

The smart host is now working properly on the new ex 2013 server.  I have managed to get another free pop3 connector for Exchange 2013 (please do not ask why) but that is how the director wants it (yes I know we can let mail flow to exchange directly)I have a receive connector linking the old and new servers during the period of migration

Reason for migration. Server 2010 SBS unstable.

I have added all the user accounts to the POP3 connector on the new server. The POP3 connectors name is POP3Connex as soon as I remove the account from the old SBS pop3 connector no one can receive mail except me (keep in mind I have removed myself from SBS and running solely on Exchange 2013 with the POP3connex with no issues. Is there something with the receive connectors. I have not touched anything there as I am too scared to in case something breaks.  The reason they went with exchange is for the calendar and archive and no they made it clear no office 365 as they do not want to pay.

Can someone please assist me or direct me for help. Port forward for 110 is open for the server on the router.

Junk email reports sharing

Hi,

I'm trying to change the default of the Junk email reporting in OWA 2016 for all users to:

- Never send reports with MS

- Never share reports with MS

After a bit or research, I found the following property in the OWAVirtualdirectory

ReportJunkEmailEnabled   : True

According to MS, Setting this to False will result in disabling OWA users from using the reporting junk emails to the exchange server it self OWA virtual directory configuration

Any help in this direction is much appreciated

Interpet results of mailflow

Can someone help me interpet what I am seeing?

  • I send an email from the SOURCE to AS user, and it works.
  • I send second email, ONLY changing the recipient, and the user never sees it.
  • I control the entire environment end to end, and both users, smtp, and source are all in the same network.
  • BUT we are running o365 hybrid

Correct Settings for Connecting to Exchange

Hi,

We need to use one of our Exchange 2013 Accounts on a device in another branch to send email from it but the device is not able to connect to Exchange due to authentication error. What are the correct and default settings for Exchange that we can use for this purpose?

Mails are strucking in Transport server

from Past one day Mails are getting struck in the Transport Server from all the mailbox databases. We are observing all the exchange services up and running fine. 

Please help us to identify and resolving the issue.

We observed that, following event ID generating,

Event ID : "7031 : The Microsoft Exchange Migration Workflow service terminated unexpectedly.  It has done this 1 time(s).  The following corrective action will be taken in 5000 milliseconds: Restart the service.

Event ID : "36888 : A fatal alert was generated and sent to the remote endpoint. This may result in terminationof the connection. The TLS protocol defined fatal error code is 20. The Windows SChannel error state is 960.

Office 365 Delay to Exchange Server 2013 on premise

Hello,

I have migrated two of our clients from on-premise Exchange servers to Office 365. Since their migration, my own office, which still has an on-premise Exchange server, receives emails from these two clients delayed.

We only have these delays from the Office365 servers coming into our own servers.

Sometimes there is no delay but more often than not, delays can be several hours long.

Any ideas?

Relay issue after server migration

A third party software was setup to use a relay and was working fine.  We recently migrated the server to a new environment and as part of that put it on the Domain and changed the Hostname, though the IP stayed the same.

Now we are getting "550 5.7.1 Client does not have permissions to send as this sender" errors

If we disable the option for Integrated Windows authentication it works though.

Since the relay is set to accept via that IP, which didn't change, is there an option I'm missing that I need to change due to the application now sending from a Domain or some other setting?

Thoughts?

Hi

We have Exchange 2010 with Hybrid setup to Office 365. The on-premise servers are with Exchange 2010 and two Exchange 2013 Hybrid servers are there and we have few users moved to Office 365 and everything working fine,

Now we would like to install latest CU for Exchange 2013 servers. What would be the impact while installing CU on Hybrid servers?

Will there by any impact to cloud users, mail flow, free busy, mailtips and etc?

Exchange 2013 SSL Certificate

GoDaddy's notes <g class="gr_ gr_126 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar multiReplace" data-gr-id="126" id="126">suggests</g> installing the Intermediate Certificate 1st

My colleague only installed the SSL Cert which got emails flowing again!

(1) is <g class="gr_ gr_420 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace" data-gr-id="420" id="420">Intermedaie</g> <g class="gr_ gr_458 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_disable_anim_appear Style multiReplace" data-gr-id="458" id="458">Required ?</g>

(2) Can the Intermediate Certificate be installed AFTER the SSL Cert has been installed

I'm Not sure & can't afford to mess things up!!

I'm seeing this Error in the Application log on an Exchange 2016 server. I am aware of an upcoming renewal for our SSL certificate for mail.domain.com. However, I'm not sure if this is related to the same expiration.

How can I check and verify?

Delegates sent items saving

Hi

I have run up against an issue where when one person sends an email from another persons address with full access to the email account and send as rights the sent email only saves in the senders sent items not the delegated account.

Current exchange version is as follows

Name                : EXCHANGE
Edition             : Enterprise
AdminDisplayVersion : Version 15.0 (Build 1320.4)

Exchange Server 2013 CU17

I know that I need to apply 3 more CU's to the system but this is currently on hold for varying reasons.

I have run the following to save sent items in both the senders and delegated sent items but receive an error after attempting to run the comand

Comandlet used "set-mailbox "User email addy" -MessageCopyForSentAsEnabled $True

Error received "MessageCopyForSentAsEnabled can only be set on shared mailboxes"

From all the forums and exchange sites essentially say this should work but for some reason the setting is not.

Any ideas / help much appreciated.
