Exchange 2013 TransportRoles\Data\Temp filling up disk

$

I have a single multi-role Exchange 2013 server and it would appear that it's not properly maintaining the temp files for the transport service.  I still have all those folder locations at their default and the problem folder is c:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\TransportRoles\data\Temp

I never had a problem with this in Exchange 2007 but I am used to running a PowerShell script nightly to clean up the IIS log files.  Do I need to do something similar for this temp folder?  Is there a setting I can adjust so that Exchange will limit the size of this folder itself?  If I stop the transport service and delete the files here will I lose anything?

Any suggestions or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Exchange 2007/2013 Coexistence Internal Relay Mail Flow to the Internet

Hello all

I have a 2007/2013 in coexistence:

2 x '07 HTs
2 x '07 CAS
1 x '07 MB

2 x '13 CAS
2 x '13 MB

On one of the '07 HTs, I've set up a receive connector for apps and printers to use for email transmission. To ensure continuity in the future, I set up a receive connector on one of the '13 CAS. Apps and printers using this receive connect will have emails delivered to in-org mailboxes but not to the Internet. Is there a configuration I'm missing?

For example, when I try to add the '13 servers to the default Send Connector to the Internet, I can only choose '13 MBs and if I do add them, I get mail bounces. What should the set up be for mail flow during coexistence? There's not much information available.

Thanks in advance.

Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2013 co-existence

Good Day Guys,

We are battling with an exchange 2013 installation, we have

1 x Exchange 2010 SP3 all roles installed - Physical

1 x Exchange 2010 SP3 CAS roles only - Virtual

1 x Exchange 2013 RU2 All roles (To replace current servers) - Physical

No edge server

Our problem is exchange 2010 can send to exchange 2013 but 2013 can't send to 2010. 2013 also needs to send out via the primary physical 2010 box as this is only server that is allowed to send out of my environment. Anyone had this problem? I see there is another update for sp3 that we will be applying tonight to see if it helps.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Shaun

I would like to create new DLT template, that encompass local regulation requirement and deployed to Exchange 2013 infrastructure. Templates located here : http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj150530(v=exchg.150).aspx  are useless for my situation.
Does anyone know how template structure “xml” must look. There is no information how to create  policy template.

Trying to get Commercial SSL Cert installed in Exchange 2010

I have created the SSL Request from the Exchange Server.  Sent it up to the CA (GoDaddy) and downloaded the Wildcard certificate.  When I Upload the CERT using either the EMC or Exchange PowerShell, I get the message the "Certificate Status could not be determined because the revocation check failed".   I did some searches and it appears this is proxy miss-config but I don't actually use a proxy.  This server has unrestricted access to the internet and in fact I use it to setup the Certs from GoDaddy.

I must be miss-understanding this error message.  It would appear to me that it can't validate expiration of the CERT from GoDaddy because of Internet Access miss-Config but that isn't true.

Microsoft forefront scanning services CPU usage is almost going 100%

Hi,

We have Exchange 2010 Sp2 Server which also has Forefront Protection for Exchange 2010 (Version 11.0.713.0.) Installed on to it. Today we have updated Exchange 2010 with SP3, after this my exchange mail flow became slow and event ID started logging 5066 ; Event Source : FSEVsapi.

Also, FSEMailPickup and other FPE Services / process started consuming major of the processor power. Due to this FPE scanning job is delaying and mail flow is impacted.

Kindly assist in troubleshooting the issue...

I have a 1000 mailboxes for retail employees, I want to make it to where these mailboxes can only send to a small selections of SMTP addresses (i.e. they will be able to emailstoresupport@contoso.com, but not each other).  I could do this by running a script to set 'Message Delivery Restrictions' on every mailbox but I would rather be able to do it via a policy or a group setting (i.e. members of this group can only send to these mailboxes).

Exchange 2013 SmartHost JangoSMTP Help Please

Hello

I got a Lab Enviroment, look at my Setup below:

Server01: Server 2012 Standard + Exchange 2013 Standard (MBX+CAS)

Server02: Server 2012 Standard + Exchange 2013 Standard (MBX)

They are in a DAG.

I have the self signed certificate that gets installed with the Exchange. But what I have read I should be able to send and receive E-Mails with a SmartHost and correct Receive Connector setup.

I have singed up for the free JangoSMTP and if I'm not wrong I can use it for 500 E-Mails totaly free for 30 Days.

So I tried to set up and use the SmartHost, but I can't get it to run.

at first I saw the mail on the JangoSMTP site, so it got there but not further.

Can someone that have used and have good experience with SmartHost help me? what can be wrong? can someone describe and guide me with the configuration on the JangoSMTP site? because I think I'm doing something wrong there.

Thanks in advance

Mail Flow on a Exchange 2013/coexistance

I have found how mail flow works on Exchange 2013 which would be cloud to cas to mailbox.  However, if the mx record is pointing to the cas server on a exchange 2013 server, which server redirects mail to a mailbox on exchange 2007?

Is it the CAS server or the mailbox server.  From the stuff I am finding it looks like it goes from mailbox to mailbox.  Is this true?  I need to know the answer so that I can make sure my firewall is set up appropriately as we are moving our exchange environment from an old DC to a new DC and need to make sure I have the nescessary ports open.  I am trying to figure out if port 25 is open between the two mailbox servers, the two CAS servers, or both.  Please advise and or refer me to some documenation with this answer.  Thanks in advance!

Using general SMTP for multiple domains

We have an Exchange 2010 organization(best.com) and recently we have taken 40 companies (domains). These organizations have exchange 2003 and 2007 environments. We ll migrate all these organizations to Exchange 2010 as soon, but before that, we want to implement and use a general SMTP address(@best.com) for all 40 organizations so that everyone in organization can communicate with the same SMTP.
Does anyone have some experience or a best practical idea? I have thought itself to mail forwarding, but maybe does anyone know another solution.

exchange 2010 internal relay

hello,

i have exchange 2010 and lotus mail server in organization. Most of the mailboxes are on exchange, only few of them are on lotus, and few users have both smtp exchange mailbox and lotus email. Exchange is internal relay for lotus, and most of the time relaying works fine.

sometimes exchange relays emails for users that have mailbox on exchange server to lotus. Lotus refuses it and we got NDR forwarding loop excedded.

to me it sounds like a bug, because exchnage relays messages for it own mailbox. Did anyone had simular situation or solution?

Frontend transport service crashes while processing data from some external clients

Hi,

I have an Exchange Server 2013 Standard Version 15, Build 516.32 running in a production environment.  The server runs in a VM hosted by a Hyper V server version 6.2.9200.16579 . For the moment we rely on the builtin Anti-Spam protection which is enabled and working. The Anti-Malware is disabled.

Problem: I noticed that every few hours the FrontEnd Transport Service keeps crashing and restarting on the below events. It is coming back like a train precision, every 1-2 hours. The common piece is the IP range of the client generating the service crash/restart, mostly there are two IPs that keep showing on. Upon checking the IPs via mx toolbox (external blacklist check) I found that at least one of the IPs are listed on RBL as blackscatterer and other SPAMming patterns.

Even so being, I do not find it normal to crash the service every time as such. What could be done? Do you think I should apply the latest Exchange CU2? Thank you, Cristian

Remote Mail Users and Dynamic Distribution Groups in Hybrid

Hey All,

So I'm having a problem that's been perplexing me for days.

I have a dynamic DL (everyone DL) that is configured to filter both local mailboxes in my on-prem and remote mailboxes in 365. The filter is below.

> (Get-DynamicDistributionGroup everyone).RecipientFilter

((((((((((((((((((RecipientType -eq 'UserMailbox' -or recipienttypedetails -eq 'RemoteUserMailbox') -and (-not(CustomAt
tribute2 -like 'service')))) -and (-not(MemberOfGroup -eq 'DC=excludefromeveryonedl')))) -and (-not(CustomAttribute2 -l
ike 'resource')))) -and (-not(Name -like 'SystemMailbox{*')))) -and (-not(Name -like 'CAS_{*')))) -and (-not(RecipientT
ypeDetailsValue -eq 'MailboxPlan')))) -and (-not(RecipientTypeDetailsValue -eq 'DiscoveryMailbox')))) -and (-not(Recipi
entTypeDetailsValue -eq 'ArbitrationMailbox')))) -and (-not(Name -like 'SystemMailbox{*')) -and (-not(Name -like 'CAS_{
*')) -and (-not(RecipientTypeDetailsValue -eq 'MailboxPlan')) -and (-not(RecipientTypeDetailsValue -eq 'DiscoveryMailbo
x')) -and (-not(RecipientTypeDetailsValue -eq 'ArbitrationMailbox')))

When I run get-recipient -recipientpreviewfilter I see RemoteUserMailboxes as members so I know that membership isn't the problem but if I message track I do not see any RemoteUserMailboxes in the expand.

Has anyone come across this in a hybrid config? Am I missing something here or going about the filter the wrong way?

Thanks!

Receive Connectors for DAG Members

$

I am in the process of migrating from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013. I have two Exchange 2013 servers in a DAG.  I need to create the customised receive connectors that exist on the Exchange 2007 server on the Exchange 2013 servers. When I create new receive connectors for our DAG members, do I specify the IP address of both servers in the network adapter bindings field, do I specify the load balancing IP address, or do I need to create an instance of the receive connector on each server, and bind the connector to the IP address of each respective server? Similarly, what do I need to specify for the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) the connector will provide in response to HELO or EHLO?

Also, I have multi-function copier/scanner/printers that users use for scan to e-mail purposes. On these devices, I need to specify the SMTP server by FQDN or IP address. What do I specify when I have two Exchange servers in a DAG, and either one of them may be the active server because the other is unavailable due to system maintenance or an unplanned outage?

Exchange Server 2013: no send/receive after failed CU1->CU2 and machine restore

$

Hi!

For several reasons, I decided to fully restore my Exchange Server 2013 machine today.

The machine is virtualized on Hyper-V.

I rebooted the server and recovered from backup and Exchange seems to be working fine. However, I cannot receive or send mail. If I try to send a message it goes to the "drafts" folder. OWA and EMC is working. I can not send mail between interna mailboxes either. Outlook says disconnected.

When running the Exhchange Connectivity Analyzer, I get the following:
- Receive: Connection was successful but no banner was received.
- Send: Successfull. However when trying to send mail to external mailbox it does not reach that mailbox.

Mailflow was working perfectly at the time of the backup.

Help is much appreciated!

UPDATE 1: When telnet on local server i get SMTP banner. But not on other computers in same subnet.
