External senders randomly and temporary receive SMTPSEND.DNS.NonExistentDomain NDR messages

$

0

On different moments of the day, the Exchange 2013 server bounces mail by sending an NDR message back to an external sender with SMTPSEND.DNS.NonExistentDomain NDR messages.

Mail was flowing okay with Exchange 2010.

Removed (uninstalled) all exchange 2010 servers and now only have one Exchange 2013 server running, to simplify things.

Two Domain Controllers running for internal .local domain, with integrated DNS. Exchange is accepting mail for external domain .eu. With Exchange 2010, mail domain was only configured in DNS of ISP. Created a split dns for Exchange 2013, but still to no avail.

How can I troubleshoot these mysterious SMTPSEND.DNS.NonExistentDomain NDR messages.

This log excerpt also shows that internal(?) mailflow suffers from this issue?

Hello,

When I open the Exchange (2010) Managent Shell and executed the cmd Test-mailflow, the out-put is the following:

[PS] C:\Windows\system32>Test-mailflow

RunspaceId         : 05559865-3cf6-4289-9d09-6774653f7423
TestMailflowResult : Success
MessageLatencyTime : 00:00:02.5695640
IsRemoteTest       : False
Identity           :
IsValid            : True

But I've been created a powershell script to execute this cmdlet, and when I run it, I get the following error:

"An unexpected error has occured and a Watson dump is being generated:
MapiExceptionNoAccess: Unable to list Mdb status. (hr=0x80070005ec=-2147024891)

Test-Mailflow : MapiExceptionNoAccess: Unable to list Mdb status. (hr=0x80070005ec=-2147024891)"

Could anyone help me ?

HealthMailbox....... thousands of tranfers appearing in SPAM quarantine

I've asked this question on another forum without an answer so I thought I would try here.

This relates to Exchange 2013.  During Friday through to Monday I am picking up thousands of spam items sent frominboundproxy@inboundproxy.com and up to five HealthMailboxes are involved.  The healthmailboxes have accounts in AD and appeared during the Exchange installation.

Here is and example -

Can anyone spread light on this, is it normal behaviour and if not how can I stop it?  The exchange installation is on a green field domain.  The exchange server is an OOTB installation on a single VM.

exchange 2003 outbound messages queuing

I recently tried to upgrade our router to avail of extra download capacity. The older model limited us to 6mb whereas the new will give us up tp 24mb.  I configured the new router exactly as the old was, i.e. port 25 open through the firewall.  I can telnet port 25 with the new router in place.  Everything appeared to be fine, except i then noticed that outbound messages began to queue and never stopped queuing. The message detail in the exchange queue gave me nothing. All inbound delivered fine.  I left it a while but after 24 hrs NDR's arrived. I put back in the old router and the queue clears almost immediately. Any sugesstions would be greatly appreciated.

Email enable Sharepoint list

After i create a sharepoint list in sharepoint 2010, the contact is created in Exchange 2010. However, I am unable to send email to the list. I receive this error when I send email to the list.

Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups:

The e-mail address you entered couldn't be found. Please check the recipient's e-mail address and try to resend the message. If the problem continues, please contact your helpdesk.

To resolve the error; I have to find the email contact, open it select the default mail format. This process is tedious. I will like sharepoint to automatically create the email list to enable users send email to it. Is there a way to do so?

Exchange 2003 - One User Unable to Send to One External Address

$

Hello,

I have researched this problem extensively online and have found nothing that helps thus far.  So here is the problem:

I have a single user on our Exchange Server who has to send an email to an external address every single day at the same time with company information that is REQUIRED for our business to operate at the external accounts site.  A few days ago, he started getting bouncebacks telling him that he is not allowed to send to that address and to contact the SysAdmin.  I am the Admin.  The crazy part about this is that if we send the email and it bounces back, then we go to the sent box for the email and forward it to the same address from the sent box, it works fine.  But he cannot send from Compose directly to the address without getting the bounce.  I have made sure all permissions are there for everything, and have basically opened his permissions to let him do whatever he wants just to see if that changed anything, and it didnt.  Other forums are telling me I have to delete and re-create his account, but noone can tell me for sure if he will lose his past emails during this process, which is something we ABSOLUTELY CANNOT DO.  Can anyone help me?  I have been working on this for the better part of a week and have come up completely empty-handed, which is unusual and frustrating for me and my bosses.

Multiple "Delivered" messages

Hello all,

We're experiencing this issue (if it is) on this specific case.

We just migrated from Exchange 2003 to 2010 SP3. Most of the clients are using Outlook 2003 SP3.

When a user sends an email with more than 2-3 people in the recipient list and asks for delivery reports, he recieves multiple delivery reports from exchange server where each report contains some of the recipients.

We were used to get one delivery report for all of the recipients per email.

How can I fix this issue? Any help is appreciated...

Public Folders - Setting permission gives System.OutOfMemoryException

Hi,

when trying to set root access permissions with inheritance on public folder on Exchange 2013 it stops after a while with: Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown.

Public folders size is about 4,5GB and the server have 16 GB RAM with about 20 users, so that should be plenty.

What i have noticed is that ISS Worker process frequently grows to about 6-7 GB in memory use under this operation.

When I check public folders now it has changed permissions on the first 20-25 folders before it stopped.

Any solution for this?

550 - No such domain at this location

We recently installed Exchange 2013 in coexistence with Exchange 2010 with the intention of migrating all of our users to Exchange 2013.  My problem is that the new mailbox servers are not sending email externally.  Our existing Exchange 2010 server is currently sending all of the mail.  When I add the new servers to the existing send connector users start receiving undelivered responses stating "550 no such domain at this location".  I've tried creating a new send connector but nothing I do seems to correct the issue.  We use a Barracuda Spam Filter and it doesn't even see the attempts to send mail from the 2013 servers.

URGENT FIX REQUIRED: A storage transient failure has occurred during content conversion.

Hello,

Please help, basically we have the same issue as the following post, only the proposed answer is not the final answer and the issue persists:

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-AU/exchangesvrsecuremessaging/thread/76f4b8b5-7cfe-41c1-a3ef-47aa036612a6

Environment:
Windows Server 2012 DC edition
Exchange 2013 Std edition
Outlook 2013 (Office 2013 Std edition)
No Malware protection enabled within Exchange 2013
No Antivirus application on Windows Server

Issue:
Same problem experienced with two separate installations, random e-mails are stuck in the Exchange Submission Queue with Delivery Type Undefined and retry error "A storage transient failure has occurred during content conversion."

Workaround:
Running the following command will clear the queue but causes adverse effects:

Get-RemoteDomain|Set-RemoteDomain-TNEFEnabled $true

Would be great if Microsoft could help out here, we are sort of stretching relationships with our customers..

Lyndon.

new-routinggroupconnector cmdlet missing

Hi,

We've got stuck in the middle of migration process from Exchange 2007 to 2013.

Our Exchange 2013 box has CU1 installed. The problem is when I try to create a routing group connector in Exchange Shell it says "the term 'New-RoutingGroupConnector' is not recognized". Actually, it is not represented among other available Exchange cmdlets (when I input "new-ro" and then Tab I do not get the complete cmdlet name).

Could anyone please point me on what I am doing wrong?

Just installed 2013 exchange server, we noticed after a couple of days that we did not receive any external emails throughout the night.  I could not find anything wrong with receive connectors.  Telnet works internally when this happens but NO access from public side testing with telnet.  After I restart the Microsoft Exchange Transport service everything functions just fine and normally lasts for about 8 hours until it happens again.

I dont know what to check or look for at this point.  Very new to exchange 2013, any kind of advice would be helpful at this time.

Certificate work flow

Hello,

I would like to understand how the client "outlook" receive the Certificate from the Exchange server and which service is responsible to provide it to the client.

Also how this works between the server roles and the other CAS inside the same CAS array and the 3rd-party mail Servers.

in other words what is the path or the road map the certificate deployment between the server and the client and the CAS array and DAG.

Thanks

mailflow broken - error 451 4.7.0

Hi,

i have the following situation with an exchange 2010/2013 coexistence scenario:

3 Servers, 1 2008 R2 Server as DC with Exchange 2010, 1 2012 Server as DC, 1 2012 Server with Exchange 2013. The Problem is that the mailflow on the 2013 Exchange is simply not working, and I have tried all suggested solutions i could find in the last 2 days without success.
Test-Mailflow fails while Test-SmtpConnectivity succeeds, but 2013-mailboxes cannot receive any mail. SmtpReceive Logs are like this:

2013-04-13T16:41:12.526Z,EX01\Default Frontend EX01,08D004497C6E9CC3,25,127.0.0.1:25,127.0.0.1:61348,*,,Message or connection acked with status Retry and response 451 4.4.0 DNS query failed. The error was: DNS query failed with error ErrorRetry

i get the same errors when i telnet from the 2010 to the 2013 server.
so it seems like a DNS related problem, but i cannot figure out whats the problem. the ex2013 has the 2 DCs as internal DNS servers and i tried all 3 possible options of the DNS lookups setting in the server properties in ECP. i can resolve all servers without problems on any server, so i really dont understand whats the problem here...

any ideas? somebody? please  ;)

so the dns queries for 'undefined' and 'internalproxy' are failing, but i really don't know what that means.

Exchange 2013 outlook 2007 we have 1 email that we gave full access permission to 3 employees. 1 employee when I add this second email address after a while it prevents outlook from sending mail, just sits in outbox. Soon as I unlink this second email the outbox will clear and the email sends. When I link it back up I an send a few after awhile outlook stops sending again.

In ECP I am going to the alt email and giving full access and send as permission.

In outlook I goto more settings, Advance open these additional mailbox's.

Exchange 2013 Address Book Policy Routing Agent Issue with Mailboxes Hidden From the Address Lists

When the AddressBookPolicyRoutingEnabled attribute is enabled by running Set-TransportConfig -AddressBookPolicyRoutingEnabled $True, I am having an issue with delivery failures for mailboxes that are hidden from the address book. I receive the following undeliverable message:

'532 5.3.2 STOREDRV.Deliver; Missing or bad StoreDriver MDB properties'

If I disable the AddressBookPolicyRoutingEnabled attribute by running Set-TransportConfig -AddressBookPolicyRoutingEnabled $False then emails are successfully delivered to the mailbox that is hidden from the address list.

I followed the installation instructions here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj907308(v=exchg.150).aspx

Below is the status of the ABP Routing Agent on my Hub Transport/Mailbox server:

Enabled: True
Priority: 5
TransportAgentFactory: Microsoft.Exchange.Transport.Agent.AddressBookPolicyRoutingAgent.AddressBookPolicyRoutingAgentFactory
AssemblyPath: C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\TransportRoles\agents\AddressBookPolicyRoutingAgent\Microsoft.Exchange.Transport.Agent.AddressBookPolicyRoutingAgent.dll
Identity: ABP Routing Agent
IsValid: True
ObjectState: New

Has anyone else run into this issue yet?

I get this delivery report every time:
