External Mails Not coming to mailbox

Hello All,

I have a setup of AD, DNS and DHCP on one box and Exchange 2013 sp1 cu12 on another box. Both the boxes are Virtual box hosted in VMware Workstation and having IP 192.168.0.xx and network settings set to Bridge. I have installed Exchange 2013 Sp1 Cu12 mail box created for user. Users are able to send/receive mails internally and also send mail externally but unable to receive mails externally.

MY ISP is providing Dynmaic IP addresss. Please let me know where I am missing as I am new to exchange.

receiving spam mails from their own email id. Example-  From : abc@xyz.com To : abc@xyz.com.

I have a single multi-role Exchange 2013 server and it would appear that it's not properly maintaining the temp files for the transport service.  I still have all those folder locations at their default and the problem folder is c:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\TransportRoles\data\Temp

I never had a problem with this in Exchange 2007 but I am used to running a PowerShell script nightly to clean up the IIS log files.  Do I need to do something similar for this temp folder?  Is there a setting I can adjust so that Exchange will limit the size of this folder itself?  If I stop the transport service and delete the files here will I lose anything?

Any suggestions or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Environment:
Windows Server 2012 DC edition
Exchange 2013 Std edition
Outlook 2013 (Office 2013 Std edition)
No Malware protection enabled within Exchange 2013
No Antivirus application on Windows Server

Issue:
Same problem experienced with two separate installations, random e-mails are stuck in the Exchange Submission Queue with Delivery Type Undefined and retry error "A storage transient failure has occurred during content conversion."

Workaround:
Running the following command will clear the queue but causes adverse effects:

Get-RemoteDomain|Set-RemoteDomain-TNEFEnabled $true


Would be great if Microsoft could help out here, we are sort of stretching relationships with our customers..

WinSock Error 10061 Exchange 2013

I have a personal exchange 2013 CU12 server. Recently I started getting Winsock error 10061 in my exchange queue. I cant seem to receive emails from Internet. The emails from internet are stuck in the queue and Exchange cant deliver email to the appropriate mailbox.

I am able to send out.


Here is the error that i get under queue viewer:

Just addional info:

I upgraded to Exchange CU12 2 months ago and I had this problem. Since I could not find anything on internet regarding this issue, I ended up doing a Bare Metal recovery to get my exchange server work. It started working. Then day before yesterday, it stopped again. I am posting this question because i could not find any exact answer anywhere. Its weird how it worked for 2 months and thern suddenly stopped working.I dont want to restore from bare metal again.

Mail flow issue from On-prem to Office 365 urgent.

In our Exchange 2013 Environment having two CAS & MBX servers: CAS: CAS01, CAS002
                                                  MBX:MBX01, MBX02
 
In MBX01 mails flowing to all recipient working properly.
 

From MBX02 the mails going only to office 365 migrated users from on prem getting stagged in queue and after bouncing back to the sender. other mails flowing through MBX02 is working properly.

I am to able to telnet MBX02 25,465

I checked the MBX02 Queue viewer logs it showing :

550 relay not permitted

Hi,
we have exchange 2013 in our organization, we want one client to use pop3 and smtp server at outside organization (but pc physicaly in our office). This computer has outlook configured with smtp.other.com and pop3.other.com . But when sending mail to anyone outside company he gets Server error: '550 Relay not permitted' . First of all I thought it is firewall issue. But it has no logs for this mail. 

I also added into accepted domain in exchange as an external relay, but it does not changed anythig. Is this an exchange issue? Because I though if I'm sending email to outside smtp server it bypasses internal exchange. If it is a case where can i enable authentication for that outside mail in exchange?

Should i create send connector? 

Also I can send to internal mailboxes, but when replying firewall just shows it is delivered to exchange edge server. How can I troubleshoot reply message from there?

EDIT: After a 15min i  got 554 5.4.6 Hop count exceeded - possible mail loop

Hi,

I configured my exchange server with 6 block list providers, but we keep getting Spam mostly from addresses that try to impersonate my domain. Many of these messages also contain attachments with malware that is not detected by the antimalware feature.

Hello,

we are using "Spamhaus ZEN" RBL for our Exchange.
There are a few IP-Adresses that I want to whitelist, this should work with "Add-IPAllowListEntry -IPAddress x.x.x.x"
The Command works successfully and returns the results with "Get-IPAllowListEntry"
Settings for IPAllowListConfig are "-Enabled True" and "-ExternalMail Enabled True"

My problem is that mails are being blocked even if they are on the whitelist.
Can someone tell me why that is happening?
I tried to restart TransportService and even whole Exchange server without success.

Hi !

This is Ankit, I have created an Exchange Server 2013 in Azure along with a Domain Controller.

The domain name that i have used while creating the environment is not registered.

I have a domain in Godaddy which I have added as UPN suffix for my testing domain environment.

I need to check the Mail Flow from gmail to my domain.

Kindly guide me which all configurations are needed to achieve my task.

Things to note : >I have to update DNS records in Godaddy
                         >which all records need to be updated at DC end
                         >which all kind of settings need to be done on Exchange Server

Relay connector for external mail failing

I created a receive connector to relay for external mail.  I set it for anonymous users only and ran the command: Get-ReceiveConnector "Anonymous Relay" | Add-ADPermission -User "NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON" -ExtendedRights"Ms-Exch-SMTP-Accept-Any-Recipient"

I added my workstation IP address in the allow list to relay email.  However, when I telnet and enter the field for "rcpt to" as xyz@yahoo.com, telnet will error and say "500 5.7.1 Unable to Relay".  It works when use any internal domain recipient.  

Any idea what I'm doing wrong with configuration of the connector?

FROM field is being changed to the recipients email address on a REPLY

Question:

User A replies to an Email from User B. 

User A gets the email rejected and the error message

"You can't send a message on behalf of this user unless you have permission to do so."

The FORM field has been changed to User B and thus rejected.

I have examined the transaction logs and all appears that user A is trying to send an email on an account that he does not have sufficient rights. Next I check the message itself and sure enough the sender is User. Exchange appears to be behaving normally.

Users both are using Outlook 2010.

What could cause Outlook to change the field? Could it be an issue with the X400LegacyExchangeDN settings for the users?

Cache has been cleared and problem is intermittent. Not all emails replied to from A to B are rejected. Most go through. User doesn't have issue with other users.

Turning off cache resolves issue.

Exchange 2010.

I have one user (only one) who gets the error message, "The message was rejected by the server." when replying to messages from his iPhone 6s.  He can send messages fine.  He can also send and received without a problem from his notebook.

I've added his account to another I phone and the same error is received for his account, but other accounts don't have a problem sending via the Exchange (activesync) 2010 server.

Hello! Please help me to solve the problem with Search-MailboxAuditLog and Search-AdminAuditLog (in ECP).I have test environment with EXCHANGE_2013_CU6_RUSSIAN (all exch roles on it) and want to check audit before production use.I was surprised that audit no working, i do that:

1) Enable and check audit for Test mailbox

2) Add Delete Actions to Owner of mailbox (in my case - Test) for fast checking

3) Login to Outlook under Test and delete 1 item, after thatcheck folder statistic for Test mailbox

4) Return to Outlook and delete one more item and see statistic again (for sure)

5) As we can see something write to audit folder, it's good, BUT:<o:p></o:p>Resume:Search-MailboxAuditLog - NO RESULT, with any parameters

Another problem -> Search-AdminAuditLog - HAVE RESULT, but from ECP i don't see it.

My TEST DB have healthy status of indexes, no problem with system mailbox but i have russian exchange. Maybe trouble in different language (not English) wrong parse logs or something else? I really need audit reports in production, it's very serious question, please help!!!

We need a way to send out an automated email (not sent from someone's outlook client) that has information that we do not want forwarded, copied, or printed.  Can this be done with Exchange 2013? The messages will be generated from SharePoint and the messaging system is Exchange 2013.  We have onpremise AD RMS.

Issue sending mail with Edge transport 2013

Hello,

I have Edge transport 2013 i all ready implement all configuration and sync between all mailboxes to Edge but during testing i can receive but i can not send i checked the queue of both mail servers and all messages was stuck in the queue please advise.

note : mailbox and cas combined on the same server. and i implement the following command before egde sync.

Set-SendConnector “EdgeSync – Inbound to Default-First*” -Port 2525   on both servers .

I have one user plagued by this issue (and of course it is the head honcho). It happens when sending, replying to, and forwarding email. It is intermittent, and sometimes simply hitting the resend option allows the message to go through. Is happening more and more these days, and for recipients he emails with all the time.

I have deleted the nk2 files. I have cleared the autocomplete lists. I have recreated his Outlook profile. I have verified the email properties are set to SMTP and not MAILTO. I have upgraded my Exchange server from 2007 to 2013, the issue still remains.We have 50 users, this is the only one with the issue.

I am pretty certain, however, that this is an Outlook issue on the client-side (Outlook 2010). The sent messages never appear in the mailbox or in the Exchange message tracking logs. However, the Undeliverable message does show up in the OWA Inbox, which I believe is due to sync, and from there I can hit resend and the message goes through no problem. Perhaps the underliverable message in Outlook is getting synced up to the server's Inbox post-failure? At any rate, I am in desperate need of a fix and cannot seem to find one.

I enabled Outlook logging, below is the error which happened again as it happened over the weekend. What we are looking at is an email being sent at 16:41, and failing at 17:00 with " 2016.07.24 17:00:43 MAPI XP Call: SubmitMessage returned MAPI_E_NOT_ME." This is when the Undeliverable message shows up in his Inbox.

We are finding that if he simply clicks Resend in Outlook, the message succeeds, which is what I believe we see happening on the same message at 17:17. No retyping of email addresses, just reseeding from the Undeliverable message. This has not always worked for him, but seems to be working lately. Still, very annoying as the emails are delayed, and it is happening to contacts he communicates with throughout the day every day.

I have changed our exchange certificate. Since then I now struggle to send email to one particular place.

Remote Server returned '<smtp.*****.net #5.0.0 smtp; 550 Remote host must supply it's certificate for verification [nmacl]>

Do I need to change/edit something or do I need to get the recipient to change/edit something ?

S/MIME in Outlook Web App 2013

I have followed the steps on how to enable S/MIME in OWA, I have downloaded and install the controls into IE, I can see the menu options to sign or encrypt, but if I try to sign an email I receive a message stating "No certificate was found.  If you have a smart card-based certificate, insert the card and try again.".  My SC is in the reader and I used it to log into webmail, but I am never able to tell it which certificate to choose.  

Did I miss something in my server configuration?

I have tried this on Windows 7 and Windows 8.

I have not loaded Outlook onto my computers and played with that yet.
