Hi ,

I just have installed Mantis Bug Tracker for IT Helpdesk Project on Win7 x86. It joined Server by LDAP authentication. Mantis configuration is working well .

But i have problem when i connect Mantis to my Exchange Server. Mantis can not send message to Exchange Server

I have checked Event Log on Exchange Server as below:

Inbound authentication failed with error LogonDenied for Receive connector Default LABEX01. The authentication mechanism is Login. The source IP address of the client who tried to authenticate to Microsoft Exchange is [IP address].

I did search google about it and i tried everything : create Recieve connector, firewall already turn off

But i still receive this error, my Mantis system can not send email to Exchange. Please help me to fix this problem

Thanks

Henry

Powershell script to add multiple domains to a transport rule

I have a transport rule in Exchange 2013 that I created in the EAC (mail flow>rules).  it is set so *Apply this rule if.. the sender's domain is..  and then I entered a few domains.

I want to use a powershell script to enter multiple domains into the senderdomainis parameter using the set-transportrule.  I would like to do this from a csv input file.  The file has  header row of domains and then the domains are listed under it.  This is also used successfully in a script that does content and sender id filter additions.

I tried the following:

$allowed = import-csv c:\temp\allowed.csv
$Rule=get-transportrule "safe domain List"
$Senderdomains =$rule.senderdomainis
foreach($row in $allowed)
{
$Senderdomains +=$row.domain
}
#Set-Transportrule "Safe Domain List" -senderdomainis $Senderdomains

It just adds a long line of all the domains mashed together without separation.

Any ideas would be helpful.

Thanks.

Delist IP Address

This is Exchnage 2016 deployment. For some reason out IP has been in banned sending IP lists.

We've tried the O365 Anti-Spam IP Delist Portal.  We first tried this around 5 hours ago.  At which point we were told that in about 30 minutes the IP address would be delisted.  However,  the problem continued,  so we've tried again (and again etc).  Now when we try to delist we get a message saying "The request to delist IP address XXX has been denied and we have escalated your request to Microsoft support.  However, there's no information on turnaround time or how to contact the correct Support team.

This issue is huge for us - we are unable to contact numerous clients and candidates until it's resolved.

We aren't currently Office 365 customers (though we are considering this as a solution). we are right now using Microsoft Exchnage 2016. Is there any other way we can expedite unblocking our IP address.

Server components states keep getting marked at inactive

I have a new Exchange 2013 server on premisses.  Twice in the last week some of the server components have been marked as inactive.  Is there a way ti figure out why this is happening?

This is randomly stopping mail flow from our ticket tracking software because it uses POP3

These are the commands I had to run before.  I will correct this IMAP proxy one in just a bit;

Set-ServerComponentState -Identity lo-exch2 -Component imapproxy -Requester HealthAPI -State Active

Set-ServerComponentState -Identity lo-exch2 -Component forwardsyncdaemon -Requester HealthAPI -State Active

Set-ServerComponentState -Identity lo-exch2 -Component PopProxy -Requester HealthAPI -State Active

Set-ServerComponentState -Identity lo-exch2 -Component provisioningrps -Requester HealthAPI -State Active

Emails delays caused by connection timing out?

Hello,

I'm kind of stump here. We're getting, on average an 18 second delay when an internet forum is trying to send an email through the Exchange 2013 server. It happens once awhile but it seems to happen when someone is emailing a new address or an existing address after a few mins. It works fine after you send the initial email and it'll send it under 1 second. We're not experiencing this on our 2010 box.

We direct IP on the forum to the load balancer and one directly to either exchange 2013 box with the same delay.

Here's what we have setup with 2013.
2 server 2012R2
Load Balancer
Internet Forum

This is what we have on our exchange 2010 box:
Server 2008 R2
Internet Forum

Let say that I sent an email from the forum to Server A. I've looked through the log and it's sending through Server B. It's like the message is lost on Server A and vice versa. Same thing happen when I point the forum directly to the load balancer. I've attached the log below. But it works fine after that until someone puts a new address in or wait about a minute.

What else should I check? I was thinking about turning off Shadow redunanecy and see if that had any effect but I think it would affect all the test emails that I've been sending.

Hello Folks,

Having a very strange issue , We have a Cognos Application server (IBM Cognos) through which user used to send an email in bulk with excel attachements so what is happening like there are 10 users so mail is reaching to 8 only not to 2 and then again when application is sending an email then again some other are getting dropped its random not the same everytime. We check the logs / message trace but did not find any issues. and through application they are getting below errors . Its not only external users internal as well. Any pointers and another logs do we need to check..

CNC-SDS-0335 Error returned from SMTP Server. The error message was: [Exception reading response]. The message could not be sent.
CNC-SDS-0335 Error returned from SMTP Server. The error message was: [Connection reset]. The message could not be sent.
CNC-SDS-0335 Error returned from SMTP Server. The error message was: [[EOF]]. The message could not be sent.
CNC-SDS-0410 The email message was not sent . Approximate message size . The mail server returned this error [[EOF]].

IBM is straight forward is saying that Error is related to SMTP so you need to check SMTP server only

migration Lotus Notes to Exchange, how to migrate confidential emails (in LN encrypted)

Hi,

we're investigating a migration of Lotus Notes to Exchange. One issue is the migration of encrypted mail. How to keep them confidential in Exchange?

We have users like a secretary that has read/write access to a mailbox of a manager. If another user mails the manager with confidential information, he encrypts it in LN before sending it, so only the mailbox owner can open the message. Is this possible in Exchange 2013 and in Exchange online? Heard that you can set things via IRM, but that with Outlook web access the secretary can set the manager's mailbox as primary and than will be able to open the confidential email....

best regards,

Hans

Exchange 2010 Partner Domain Send Connector refuses messages from O365 Hybrid due to authentication failure

I'm running a Hybrid Exchange 2010 / Office 365 environment and am in the process of migrating our users from on-premise to O365.

On my premise Exchange 2010 server, I have some specific Send Connectors setup between my domain and partner domains.

If a mailbox <g class="gr_ gr_17 gr-alert gr_spell gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace" data-gr-id="17" id="17">on premise</g> sends to this domain (defined in Send Connector) the message delivers fine. If the mailbox is on O365, the message fails to send with error "#550 5.7.1 RESOLVER.RST.AuthRequired; authentication required ##" I have added the SPF entries for protection.outlook.com to our public records, and that has populated out, however, the error remains.

The messages are making it from O365 to my premise Exchange, and it is my premise Exchange that is rejecting the message instead of sending it through the connector.

I've already worked with and MSFT in the O365 group. He was unable to help and suggested I try this group instead.

Exchange 2013 CU15 Update - Unable to relay

Hi people.

We have a problem after update Exchange with CU15.  We should update to federate some domains against Office365.  After the update, no server could send alerts or some applications mails.

We make a Receive Connector, Frontend type, with anonymous user validation, but doesn't work.

Somebody knows about connector changes in the Cumulative Update for Exchange 2013?

Thanks a lot!

Transport rule based on content from HTML formatted emails

I've been trying to catch some really pesky spam from .RU that contain links in this format:

http://username.somedomain.ru/?53245abunchofnumbers342342

I've been trying to inspect them using text patterns ('http.*\.ru/\?') but it doesn't seem Exchange 2013 will even touch HTML formatted email content. I've even attempted to create a rule that just looks for "http" in the email and they still get past the rule. Is there an option I need to turn on in Exchange to actually inspect these types of emails? Maybe a different condition I need to set?  This has been driving mecrazy for the last few weeks. Please, any help is appreciated.

Dear Exchange-experts,

I can't send to other domains than mine domain, and I also don't recieve e-mails from other domains. My DNS records are correct. My ISP blocks port 25 by default so I obtained to use now port 2525 for smtp.

What can I do?

Kind regards,
Ruben

Relay Access Denied

Hi!

Our Exchange 2013 Server trying to send messages to a domain but in the queue viewer it says "Last Error: 454 4.7.1 Relay Access Denied". We are not trying to relay anything through their email system. We are just replying to their emails but stays in our exchange queue. We used our ISP E-Mail Server as a smarthost and it worked but now it is also not working. We are using DNS Resolution in our Exchange with send connector.

Any Suggestions?

Email Jam in the Journaling Queue

$

We have random emails mostly, it looks like just spam that keep getting jammed up in the "Journaling Queue" with the following error;

“Last Error: 400 4.4.7 The server responded with: 550 5.6.2 SMTPSEND.BareLinefeedsAreIllegal; message contains bare linefeeds, which cannot be sent via DATA. The failure was replaced by a retry response because the message was marked for retry if rejected.”

I have followed the "Bare linefeeds clogged" question earlier and I'm continuing to get these messages on a daily basis even after changing the BareLinefeedRejectionEnabled to $true.  These were the connectors that I updated (which are all of them)

  • FrontendTransport
    Set-ReceiveConnector "FSRM-SMTP" -BareLinefeedRejectionEnabled $true
    Set-ReceiveConnector "SERVERNAME\Client Frontend SERVERNAME" -BareLinefeedRejectionEnabled $true
    Set-ReceiveConnector -Identity "SERVERNAME\Default Frontend SERVERNAME" -BareLinefeedRejectionEnabled $true
  • HubTransport
Set-ReceiveConnector "Client Proxy SERVERNAME" -BareLinefeedRejectionEnabled $true
    Set-ReceiveConnector "Internal-Relay" -BareLinefeedRejectionEnabled $true
    Set-ReceiveConnector "SERVERNAME\Default SERVERNAME" -BareLinefeedRejectionEnabled $true
Set-ReceiveConnector "Outbound Proxy Frontend SERVERNAME" -BareLinefeedRejectionEnabled $true

I have to manually "Remove (without sending NDR)" and I would like to find a resolution so I don't need to monitor and worry that emails are jamming up in this queue anymore.  Any ideas?

Exchange 2013 - Unable to send email, Internally & Externally

$

Hi,

I have new testing lab to play around with which is starting to drive me insane. I have exchange 2013 and outlook 2013. I can receive emails from external domains but I am unable to send emails internally or externally!

Now I would know what to look at if I couldn't send externally, But not being able to send internally has completed confused me!

anyone got any tips where to start troubleshooting for not being able to send internal mail? Once internal mail works I should then be able to get external mail working as well....

Thanks
