Remote Server returned '550 5.7.1 RESOLVER.RST.AuthRequired; authentication required

We are in a Hybrid environment, all of our mailboxes are hosted in O365 but we have an on premise Exchange server for mail relay. We just installed an Exchange 2013 server today (we have Lync 2010 so we could not jump to Exchange 2016), it replaced our Exchange 2010 server. Yesterday I could send to our Dynamic Distribution Group. Once our Exchange 2013 server was in place and everything routed through it I cannot send to it any longer - Remote Server returned '550 5.7.1 RESOLVER.RST.AuthRequired; authentication required. I can send to DL's just fine, just not this DDG. The permissions are correct and I have removed and re-added myself as someone who can send to it. It's as if it thinks I am not an internal user.

Exchange not routing messages indvidually

I have an Exchange organisation with multiple Exchange server within a single AD that spans multiple AD sites, with an Exchange server at each site, and each exchange server sends & receives emails for country specific domain name.

I have noticed that when a user at Site A sends an email to an external recipient, but with a user at Site B in CC, then the email is routed from Site A to the Exchange Server at Site B for both recipients. The email is delivered successfully to the internal user at site B, and queued for external delivery through the external connector at site b.

This is causing problems because the exchange server at site b uses it's own country specific domain name on the external connector, which doesn't match the domain name of the original sender from site a, so delivery to some domains with strict rules are failing. (gmail is one)

Ideally, the exchange server at site A would route the email to the external recipient to it's own external connector and forward the email for the internal recipient to the exchange server at site B.

The following is a copy of the message tracking logs the from the exchange server at site A (ICMXS04) and Site B (GCMXS04) for a single message id that exhibits this problem.

Mail Flow for terminated employees redirected to a public folder - cannot get employee's out of office message to trigger

Hello,

I have a few employees who have been terminated.  I have their mailboxes set with a mail flow rule to redirect to a public folder, so that we can see messages that were sent to the employees so we can respond to them.

However, with this redirect rule in place for each mailbox, their Out of Office message isn't triggering - the message that would tell a sender that the employee is no longer with the company.  Ideally, senders would be notified that the employee is not there now.

Is there a way to set up a message to be sent to any senders trying to email a mailbox, while still having funtional mail flow redirection?

I've got a user that has been having a weird issue for months that I just found out about but also can't figure out. Please note even though we're currently in a Hybrid configuration this issue existed before migrating his Mailbox to O365 and continues to exist post migration.

User is not having issues receiving email into his Inbox, except for one sender who is also part of our organization. The emails are not going into his Junk Email folder but rather into "Spambox." When one user emails him the email arrives into his Inbox for about 3-5 seconds before it is moved into Spambox. There is no Not Junk or other such options when you right-click in the folder to try and 'whitelist' the one sender. If you move the email back into the Inbox it is moved back again after a few seconds. This happens in OWA, Outlook 2013 and 2016, and his mobile device.

What have I checked?

  1. Spam Filter settings on Exchange Online itself
  2. Checked for anti-spam add-ins in Outlook, none found.
  3. Checked for anti-spam programs in Installed Programs, none found.
  4. Verified he has no additional Mailboxes or Email Accounts added.
  5. All other folks tested, both on-prem and Exchange Online Mailboxes, emails are delivered into the Inbox.
  6. Created new Windows and Outlook profiles on a blank computer, issue still occurs.
  7. Renamed the Spambox folder. This only had the email not show-up until renamed the folder back to Spambox and then the email showed up in his Inbox and was quickly moved to Spambox.
  8. No other user's reporting this problem and no other user's have a Spambox or Unwanted folders in either Outlook or OWA.

Hi

We have exchange hybrid with 3 CAS and 3 Mailbox Servers . We can see the following errors is  generated from 'system' section of windows category logs.

In two cas servers

The error is

A fatal alert was received from the remote endpoint. The TLS protocol defined fatal alert code is 46.

and third server error is

An error occurred while using SSL configuration for endpoint 0.0.0.0:443.  The error status code is contained within the returned data.

What may be the issue.

I request your advice to resolve this issue.

All services are working fine .

Hi,

We use Exchange 2010 Standard. We have one mailbox server and one hubcas server. I am posting here, if this is not the suitable place, please move it to the required forum.

There is no edge server.

Sometimes we have mails stuck in our mail security gateway.

I also get below errors in event logs.

Event 9213

A non-expirable message with the Internal Message ID 15805706 could not be categorized. This message may be a journal report or other system message. The message will remain in the queue until administrative action is taken to resolve the error. Other messages may also have encountered this error. To further diagnose the error, use the Queue Viewer or the Exchange Mail Flow Troubleshooter.

Event 8010

A message with the Internal Message ID 15593265 was rejected by the remote server.  This message will be deferred and retried because it was marked for retry if rejected.  Other messages may also have encountered this error.

We have journaling enabled on databases.

Please let me know how do I find the root cause of this issue.

Any details on sending TLS Encrypted emails to an external recipient?

Hello,

A client would like us to send TLS encrypted emails to them.   We have an exchange 2013 server that has been in operation about 1 year.   I admit I know nothing about what is involved with TLS.

Do we need an additional certificate or multiple certs for each sender?

Where do we install it?   Is it strictly in outlook and not in exchange or is there an option to have it on one or the other?

Any soup to nuts articles that get into the details on how to set it up (not the theory that doesn't tell me any powershell commands or stuff like that?)

How to add a proxy email address to delivery management for a mail-enabled security group

Hi,

We have a mail-enabled security group which they need restricted as to who can email it. I've been asked to add a proxy email address (which sits on a user account here) however I can only seem to add normal mailbox accounts to it.

Any ideas how to add a proxy email address to be able to send to this group?

Thanks!

Delay from office 365 to On-Prem

I currently have a Hybrid setup with Office 365 with students in the cloud and teachers On-Prem. Lately i have been noticing issues with O365 users sending emails to On-Prem. O365 Mail can sometimes take up to 2 hours to 2 days to be received On-Prem.

I have opened a ticket with Office 365 Support and they believe the error is "When Office 365 try to send the email to on-prem, the “Defer” happened with the error {LED=450 4.4.317 Cannot connect to remote server [Message=451 4.4.0 Socket error ConnectionReset]"

They are unable to continue to resolve my issue because its a Hybrid scenario.

Any help would be appreciated.

Exchange 2013 - multiple SMTP Addresses

Hi there,

We are are group of companies, and we have multiple accepted domains with different email address policies to have different SMTP addresses.

Some users, mostly accounts and HR team, have SMTP addresses (user@abc.com, user@def.com..). They can receive all these emails, but now it has reached a point where these users should be able to send OUT emails from any of these addresses to our clients.

For example, when communicating with customer 1, user should be able to send email from user@abc.com.
Similarly, when communicating with Customer 2, the user should be able to send email from user@def.com

List accounts in Message Delivery Restrictions -> Only senders in the following list

We just migrated to exchange 2010 and now I am having the most difficult time doing what used to be simple and quick in 2003.

I need to export to a spreadsheet the people who are in "Only Senders in the following list:" in the message delivery restrictions.

Does someone have the powershell code?

On a side note, the accounts are all truncated despite there being plenty of "white space" making the view useless.
