create a rule for email that Exchange will run

Hello

I have a scenario where I need an incoming email to be forwarded to another user. Can Exchange 2007 have a rule created and ran at any time particularly when the user that the email is originally intended for is not logged in?

Thanks in advance.

The Message is awaiting submission to the mailbox store and Status: Expanded

Using a 365 hybrid environment. Users cannot send to a specific internal distribution list. The emails are stuck with a delivery status: expanded. I am already aware on how to trace emails as that is the only relevant advancement towards a solution out here on the web. But after I get the trace results and realize it is "expanded" what is that really explaining? Why are the emails being held in limbo somewhere and how can I resolve this issue?

I have the trace:

There is also the message "The Message is awaiting submission to the mailbox store" which I cannot really make heads or tails of. What I do know is...

  1. emails are not being received for anyone attached to this specific distribution list.
  2. There is no way to force them from what I find.
  3. No failure notices or NDRs are received.
  4. This was working before 04/28/2014.

Dear Sir,

I am using Microsoft office 365 small business premium in my company and also using Google App Sync to synchronize mails. My question is that now i want to not use google app sync and want to download my mail to my local machine using the office 365 features, so please suggest me what i should do in order to bypass the google app sync and access and download my mail by using only office 365 without any additional charge.

Thanks and Regards,

$

Today I got an email from a user saying she just received an internal email that was sent November 5th 2013. I tried using Exchange Tracking Log Explorer but nothing shows as being received on 11/5/13 and nothing from todays date that matches the Subject. Here are is the msg header which has been modified to hide our domain. This is a small business with 12 users with SBS 2011. This isn't the first time this has happened either. Another user had email delayed for 3 months.

Hi,

I have an Exchange Server 2013 running on one Server. I have set up a receive connector for the internal Scanner (Scan to Email). this works most of the time - but occasionally fails with the following error: "51 4.4.0 Error encountered while communicating with primary target IP address: ""421 4.4.2 Connection dropped" - any help will be appreciated.

I have run the health tests on the server and these are the unhealthy returns:

We are using exchange 2013 and configured multiple authoritative accepted domain and created UPN in AD for these domains. I want to block emails from one internal domain(UPN suffix) to other internal Domain with different UPN suffix and want to assign different GAL on internal domains. How i can achieve this functionality.

We are using internal transport agents for filtering of emails.

Want to be able to "Receive mail from remote servers that have these IP addresses"

I recently migrated from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010, everything is working very well, but i have one more item to configure on the new Exchange server, that is being able to receive mail request from other devices like our printers, and software that send email notices from some of our servers.

In exchange 2003 i had setup Relay restrictions to GRANT access from servers and printers by IP address.

I have tried adding one of the printer address to the Default Receive Connector under Server Configuration on the Hub Transport. I restarted the Exchange Transport, but i am unable to relay email from the printer to the recipient through the Exchange 2010 server.

When i added the IP the Network tab item had the default entries that you will see after the migration, like this:

Can i remove the fff and the 0.0.0.0 lines from this connector? i DON'T want to restrict but allow email to be relayed through the 2010 server.

Change Spam SCL For Connector

(Exchange 2010)

Is there any way to tell Exchange to set an SPL level of 0, or bypass spam filtering altogether for any emails received using a specific connector, or sent via another? We have a connector listening to a specific application that sends SMTP anonymously (line of business app) but some of the emails end up in users Junk Mail, so I was hoping that anything received by that connector could be somehow white listed?

Email not delivered

I have a shared mailbox configured on my exchange 2013 server (SP1).  (there are 2x CAS servers and 2x MBX servers connected with a working DAG) and had a user say they never got an email that was sent from an external gmail account.   We run our email through Message Labs before hitting exchange and i can see the email successfully go through message labs and from the exchange servers ive run a message tracking report:

Get-MessageTrackingLog -resultsize Unlimited -Start "04/22/2014 08:00:00" -End "04/22/2014 10:00:00" -recipient "hrrecruit@domainname" | select-object eventid,timestamp,messageid,sender,recipients,messagesubject,totalbytes | out-gridview

I can see the email hit exchange but there are only 2 entries,  HARECEIVE at 8:59:45am and then a HADISCARD at 9:02:00am.   Is there a better way to figure out what exactly caused this message to not get delivered?

Thanks in advance!

On Premise Exchange - Office 365 - Smart Host

$

Hi,

I'm in the process of configuring one of our clients Office 365 setup so that they can utilise Exchange Online Protection.  The client has an Exchange 2013 setup on premise and I would like to use their configured Exchange Online Protection service to route mail through as a smart host, once I've got outbound mail configured I'll look at routing the inbound mail through, it's all configured just need to update the clients MX record so they will be utilising EOP.

The client is currently routing mail via our hosted Exchange environment. The reason being they are routing mail through our hosted Exchange environment rather than direct from site is down to their WAN connection.  Unfortunately they share a 100mb pipe with about 30 other businesses via the local council, as they share this WAN connection with other businesses all going out on a proxy server this has caused no end of problems with the main problem being their public IP address is consistently on a blacklist.  Routing mail from their on premise Exchange server out through ourselves as a smart host has resolved the issue.

When I route mail from their on premise Exchange server over to their configured EOP connector then any sent mail from site bounces back with the following NDR:

Diagnostic information for administrators:
Generating server: EX2013.domain.local

alex.derbyshire@domain.com
DB3FFO11FD058.mail.protection.outlook.com
Remote Server returned '550 5.7.1 Service unavailable; Client host [*.*.*.*] blocked using Spamhaus; To request removal from this list seehttp://www.spamhaus.org/lookup.lasso'

So it would seem that when using an EOP as a smart host doesn't help when the sending mail server's IP address is on a blacklist.  I have always been under the impression that using a smart host counteracts this problem?  Would I be right in saying as their domain is configured in EOP and their public IP is on the inbound connector in EOP then there shouldn't be any policies checking the outbound mail ?

It would be great to have this setup as having them using our businesses hosted Exchange environment isn't ideal.

Looking forward to any ideas!

Alex

Exchange 2013 Delivery Reports - Why does it not show forwarded mail?

$

We just migrated from 2010 to 2013 and all seems to be working well... We started using EOP at the same time with only a few hiccups.  Our Get-MessageTrackingLog command shows all of our email that was delivered or failed, etc... but when I try to run"Mail Flow -> Delivery reports", it forces me to select a mailbox and I leave the other fields empty - and it only shows emails that come directly to me.  The problem is, I have half a dozen email accounts that are set to forward their email to my exchange account.  None of those emails show up with the delivery reports method - but they DO show up via the powershell get-messagetrackinglog command...

With EOP I can see all the emails if I use "Mail Flow -> Message Trace"... why does it work with EOP, but on our local box - it's nerfed to just emails who specify my direct exchange address?

Exchange 2013 SPF -all Hardfail not working.

Hello,

I am using exchange 2013 SP1 on a small 1 server setup with only 1 outgoing IP address. Since installing 2013 we have been getting spoofed emails from legitimate addresses in our domain. I created an SPF record last weekend with my ISP that has a hard fail "-all" in it to try to stop these. It seemed to be working ok, but just today I received a spam message where the return path was my email address eventhough the "smtp server id" IP address in the message properties was not mine. How can this happen? My spf record references my MX and A records as permitted senders and hard fail for anyone else.

Thanks,

Bjonwayne

We have a few groups (HR and Legal) that provide services for a few different companies.  I would like the groups to be able to send/receive messages from multiple email domains, but I would like to avoid each user having multiple Mailboxes on the system (each with multiple calendars, contact lists, GAL entries, etc)

It is so easy to add additional inbound alias, but I for the life of me cannot find a good solution for sending Outbound via an alias.

Does anyone have any suggestions for how they've done something similar in their own org?

We're running Exchange 2010 and Outlook 2013.
